Library
I feel at home when I am at a library.
Hiding behind the shelves full of books. Sitting quietly and listening to the whispers of children who can’t help but speak the thoughts that cross their minds—they remind me of myself. Reading a few words, then writing some. Imagining all the adventures that wait for me in the unread pages all around me.
I enter the library and I am at peace.
I find a place at an empty desk where I can see and smell the books. Then I open my laptop. I don’t connect it to the internet.
I don’t know of any other place where I can work with such clarity and focus. I don’t know of any other place where I enjoy my work this much.
When was the last time you visited the library?

Visiting the library is one of the things I miss since my move to Malaysia. I used to visit the library about twice a week looking for new books to read. Browsing through the stacks was always nice.
There are no libraries in Malaysia? That’s a shame…
Although, I guess that’s the case in a lot of the countries in the world. Sadly.
I love the library…i go every week. And when I travel, I always like to check out the libraries along with the points of interest!
Visiting libraries when you travel is a great idea! I do the same from time to time and always get inspired from the visits.
