2013
Today is the first day of yet another new year. I’m sitting in the children’s bedroom, waiting for my younger son to fall asleep (it’s his first night without milk in bed so it is taking a while…) and typing this post on my iPad.
I wrote my previous post on this blog a little over a year ago, when I told you I was starting a magazine. It was something I felt I had to go after to see if I like it and if I can do it. To have no regrets.
A year passed. I enjoyed making the magazine. And I grew even more curious about the world of online publishing. Having started my magazine as a nobody in the world of bread making, I was encouraged by seeing the growth in readership over the year. And I loved being around my children — most of the time.
In October, then, I picked up the phone and called the HR manager at the company I have worked for since 2004 and told her it was time for me to continue searching my own path.
And here I am. As 2013 begins, my magazine, Bread, is my job. Making it valuable is my goal. With one year of publishing behind me, I’m just getting started.
It feels good.
I have a feeling that this year is going to be special.
Which is why I wish you an adventurous new year as well!
Ahh, that’s awesome Jarkko! Best of luck :)
Thank you, Jari! :)
