I love going for walks to get some amazing shots… am slowly working my way up to running, but started on a treadmill. I can’t wait to get that kick and excited pleasure out of finishing a run…. I just need the motivation to keep going!

Don’t worry… we’re the same here, really. We have two seasons, winter and fly-season :) it is pretty nonetheless, but by the end of November there’ll be half a metre of snow in my front yard.

I rarely see the sun from Monday to Friday in January and February too – dark when I go to work, dark when I get home.

(Probably explains why I drink a lot of vodka from your country in winter hee hee!)

In any case, I plan to visit Finland at some point – when it is warm, of course!

Right now, Finland sure is beautiful. Wait two months or so, and you might not think so (November over here is pretty much rain and darkness).

Mari and Oiva just left to Jyväskylä today, and I’m planning to follow them Thursday after work. The training has been good, except that I caught a flu last weekend and although I’m feeling better now, I’m still coughing a bit… So, I hope that’ll pass before Saturday and I can finish the race.

I am jealous. Living in the middle of a major metrosphere makes running harder on my knees then that nice dirt road, and the traffic, buses, and lack of sidewalks don’t help much!

Gorgeous photographs by the way. Reminds of of time I spent in Ireland.

Yes, the area definitely helps in forming a running habit! We used to live in central Helsinki and while it was nice in many ways, running wasn’t nearly as enjoyable in that environment as it is now, just 15 kilometers away from the big city.

I’d love to see your bushwalking photography! I could imagine walking is much better for photography than running. When running, I don’t like to stop that often, so I’m just seeing great scenes, and only rarely shooting them as usually I don’t carry a camera with me…

It helps that you have a nice area to run in! :-) I do my insane 15-20km bushwalks for the same reason. I LOVE the photography I get along the way. I’m hoping to go and do a couple of bushwalks over the next fortnight.
