3 Wacky Money Making Ideas to Make Your Life More Exciting

It seems that this is your first time to my blog. Welcome! In this blog I will share my ideas on how you can make a living in a way that feels good to you, your family, your environment and everyone around you. If you want to know more about me and this blog, check out my about page. And if you want to stay updated on my new posts, subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for stopping by!

What to do when it feels like all the good money making ideas have already been implemented and you’re just too late in the game?

Simple.

Make up new ideas.

A few weeks ago I posted 7 ideas for creating passive income online. But that was serious stuff: books, blogging, creating software. What about if you really want to make earning money fun and exciting, in a bit of an insane way?

Today I present you three wacky money making ideas that just might work pretty well. If you have experience in some of them, let me know how they turned out.

Or if you have more ideas like these, share them in the comments section so we can give your ideas a try. The crazier the better.

1. Sponsored Life

Take your sponsorship to a new level.

Instead of just selling advertisement space on your blog, find a sponsor for your everyday life. There are so many different possibilities for positioning ads that it would be a shame to let the opportunity pass you by: You can wear ads on you, you can put ads on your computer, your back bag, all around your home…

Leah Culver implemented this idea really well sometime ago: She got herself a new laptop by selling ad space on it.

2. Human Computer

In the spirit of the Chinese Room and The Turk, disguise yourself as a computer and sell answers to people’s questions.

All you need is a cardboard box big enough to hold you, some paper and a pen. Make three holes to the box: one for entering the question, one for inputting coins and one through which you output your response.

Bring the box to a place full of people. Come early so they don’t see you come. Then just wait for people to start using your computer.

Other variations could be a computer that instead of answering questions gives random quotes. Or even random numbers!

3. Personal Copywriter

There are several occasions where people need to send greetings to their friends, family or business partners: Christmas, Easter, birthdays, weddings, New Year, and so on. Most people don’t consider themselves writers so they just send some standard post card with a standard “Merry Christmas” text on it.

But I’m sure most of them would rather send something more personal - if they knew how to do it.

This is where you come into the picture. You ask a few questions to find out who the recipient is, how is she related to your customer, and then you write.

If you have some artistic talents, you can go one step further and create the greeting card yourself. But even if you don’t do this, make sure the text is handwritten on a nice paper.

What do you think? Do these ideas make sense? Do you have some even wackier ideas? Share them in the comments.

This month we’re celebrating Insanely Interesting September. Check out the announcement and participate in the group writing project: What do you find interesting today? What makes this September the most interesting so far? Why are you insanely interested in something? Share your thoughts and see what others have written.

Love the creativity here! I never heard of The Turk before, that’s really cool. I also love the idea of selling ad space on your backpack, computer, or how about your t-shirt? Maybe you could sell space on your dog’s sweater - a really cute dog could generate a lot of interest right???

What about selling my soul? That’s got to be good for a few bucks ;-)

    Shirley: Great idea!

Jeff: Well, you can sell anything… I’m sure someone would be interested in buying ;)

    What about renting it?
